The Korup Rainforest Conservation Society (KRCS), in partnership with the Ecumenical One World Initiative, Germany and with financial support from the federal state of Hesse, Germany, successfully concluded a three-day Fundraising and Proposal Development Workshop held at the Limbe Botanical Gardens, Cameroon from 31 May to 2 June 2026.

The workshop brought together participants for intensive practical training designed to strengthen the organization's capacity to mobilize resources and develop compelling funding proposals. Over the course of three days, participants engaged with a wide range of topics carefully structured to build both strategic thinking and practical skills. These included organizational assessment through SWOT analysis, fundraising strategy development, donor engagement techniques, project planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, sustainability planning, project application formats and AI-supported proposal writing.

All sessions were facilitated by Dr. Denis Kupsch, the workshop's Main Trainer, whose expertise guided participants through real-world applications of each topic area. Every lesson was applied directly toward developing actionable funding initiatives for the CHICS Scholarship Programme, with a clear focus on securing support for the 2026/27 school year and beyond.

At the close of the workshop, participants Certificates of Completion, recognizing their commitment and the skills they developed throughout the three days.

KRCS Programme Coordinator Mosaki Emmanuel Motoase expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the workshop, noting that the knowledge and tools gained will directly strengthen the organization's proposal writing efforts in the months ahead.

KRCS remains committed to building the internal capacity needed to sustain its conservation and community development programmes across the Korup region and beyond.
